Prof. Pulina among the most authoritative scientists

Professor Giuseppe Pulina, President of Carni Sostenibili (The Sustainable Meat Project), was included in the prestigious “World’s Top 2% Scientists List” for the second consecutive year.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Giuseppe Pulina, President of Carni Sostenibili (The Sustainable Meat Project), was included in the critical “World’s Top 2% Scientists List” for the second consecutive year together with two of his students, now colleagues. The list includes the most cited authors in scientific publications, and it is a prestigious acknowledgment that measures the success of an academic.

The database is publicly available with over 100,000 top scientists, with career data updated at the end of 2020. These provide standardized information on various successful indicator parameters, such as h-index or co-authorship adjusted hm-index, author-level metrics that measure productivity, the most cited articles, the number of citations, and their impact in scientific publications and journals.

Professor Pulina shares this award with other 62 Italian “animal scientists”, equal to 18% of those active in Italy. A figure nine times higher than the world average, confirming the excellence of the Italian Zootechnical School, its scientific association ASPA and its newspaper Italian Journal of Animal Science.

This recognition proves that the Italian livestock system is at the forefront, not only for the undoubted quality of production but also for research and technology in which universities, research institutions, production, and processing companies collectively participate.

We congratulate the President of our Association, Giuseppe Pulina, for this remarkable and well-deserved result, the basis of the success of Carni Sostenibili.

The "Sustainable Meats" Project aims to identify the key topics, the state of knowledge and the most recent technical scientific trends, with the aim of showing that meat production and consumption can be sustainable, both for health and for the environment.
